Order from Council of State authorizing warrant of payment [manuscript], 1658 September 20.

Document issued by Richard Cromwell's first council authorizing the Commanders of the Admiralty and Navy "to signe a bill upon the Trea[sure]r of the Navy for payment" of £25 unto "Richard Bradshaw, Esq., his Highness' Resident at Hamburgh." According to the order, Bradshaw had lent this sum to Captain Peter Motham, commander of the Foresight frigate, for victualling his ship.
